The St. Johns County School District School Board approved the adoption of resources for Career and Technical Education (CTE), Computer Science, and World Languages on February 11, 2020. View the complete list of Adopted Resources for 2020.
Current parents and residents of St. Johns County may file a petition for reconsideration of the newly adopted resources. Printed copies of the petition form are available in our office at 10 Hildreth Drive, St. Augustine, 32084. This form must be submitted, with petitioner’s signature, to the SJCSD Media Services Department, no later than 12:00 PM on March 13, 2020 for consideration. Any forms submitted after the deadline cannot be considered.
Florida adopts instructional materials for those specific courses within a selected subject area on a rotating basis. The Florida Department of Education publishes specifications. These specifications outline the courses, as well as the standards materials, must meet. Detailed information is available on the FLDOE website at http://www.fldoe.org/academics/standards/instructional-materials/.
The textbook adoption process includes teachers and parents. If you are interested in serving on the Review Committee, please contact the School Advisory Council (SAC) chairperson at your school.
