Dr. Linda ThomsonDr. Linda Thomson was elected to serve District 5 of the St. Johns County School Board in 2024.  She began her 41-year teaching career in Duval County.  After marrying a U. S. Coast Guard Officer, she continued her career across the United States including New York City (teacher) and Fairfax County, Virginia (teacher, high school principal).  Ultimately, she returned to Florida as the principal of Nease High School and subsequently the Director of Instructional Services for St. Johns County.

After retirement, Dr. Thomson was elected as Port, Waterway and Beach District Commissioner, Group 1, in 2022.  She is actively involved in the St. Augustine Rotary, Kiwanis, Anastasia Baptist Church Quilting Ministry, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 07-14-07 and is a Florida Guardian ad Litem Volunteer.

Dr. Thomson completed her B.S. from Jacksonville University (Math), her M.A. from Queens College of N.J. (counseling), and her Ed.D. from the University of Houston (Educational Leadership and Supervision).
