Our Instructional Technology department compiled Digital Citizenship Resources for teachers in every grade level. To access these resources, log in to the Instructional Resources and Media Services page on InsideStJohns.  If you have any questions about the SJCSD Digital Citizenship Expectations or Resources, please contact our Media Services department at 547-3947.

Below you will also find a link to our Digital Citizenship Guidelines for teachers, as well as our Online Commenting Rules. The document provides more details, but here is an overview of the expectations for teachers:

  • SJCSD teachers will provide students with a Digital Citizenship overview at the beginning of the school year. As required by the Protecting Children in the 21st Century Act, they (schools) must provide for educating minors about appropriate online behavior, including interacting with other individuals on social networking websites and in chat rooms, and cyberbullying awareness and response.

  • Before utilizing Online Commenting websites/apps (Padlet, Blogs, Edmodo), teachers will distribute and review our SJCSD Online Commenting Rules.
  • Teachers will strive to continually promote ethical technology behavior throughout content lessons during the school year.
