National History Day Program
We would like to extend an invitation to all 6th – 12th grade students in St. Johns County, including public, home education, charter, and private schools to participate in the 2026-2027 St. Johns County National History Day program.
General Information about NHD:
- There are two age groups.
- Junior Division = Middle School
- Senior Division = High School
- There are five possible categories for projects.
- Documentary (group or individual)
- Exhibit (group or individual)
- Paper (individual)
- Performance (individual or group)
- Website (individual or group)
- Each student may only do one project per year.

General Timeline for St. Johns County NDH:
- Home education, charter, and private school students interested in participating in the SJCSD National History Day program for the 2026-2027 school year must indicate their interest to Tracy Melgard and Laura Wynn by December 1, 2026.
- If you attend a SJCSD school that does not participate in NHD and you are interested in participating, please contact Tracy Melgard and Laura Wynn by December 1, 2026.
- The district NHD competition will take place at First Coast Technical College, 2980 Collins Avenue, St. Augustine in mid-February.
