Students will study concepts of life, earth/space and environmental science, and chemistry standards from grade 8. The course moves at an accelerated rate. Students who complete this course will take M/J Comprehensive Science 2 Accelerated if they are concurrently enrolled in Algebra 1 Honors in grade 7.

The purpose of this accelerated course is to provide opportunity for the student to study all 7th grade Advanced Science topics and half of the 8th grade Advanced Standards. Students will study concepts of life, earth/space and environmental science, and Space standards from grade 8. The course moves at an accelerated rate. Students who take this course will take the Statewide Science Assessment at the end of the school year and will take Biology Honors, a high school course, if they are concurrently enrolled in Geometry Honors, in Grade 8. The Biology Honors State End of Course Exam, is taken at the end of the school year and constitutes 30% of the student grade for the year.
