Florida Tax Credit- Personalized Education Program
(FTC-PEP)

On March 27, 2023, Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law House Bill 1, expanding educational options for all K-12 students in Florida. The bill created the Personalized Education Program (PEP) as an option under the Florida Tax Credit (FTC) Scholarship. The Personalized Education program is home schooling, but registration is done through the Scholarship Funding Organization (SFO) for funding purposes. A parent/legal guardian receives access to educational funds which are placed into an Educational Savings Account (ESA). The parent/legal guardian determines where to direct the funds in exchange for educational services.

Please complete the Home Education Termination Form if you have been awarded PEP funding and are currently registered with SJCSD Home Education.

Family Empowerment Scholarship-Unique Abilities
(FES-UA)

The Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA) is a Florida state scholarship designed to support students with disabilities by providing families with funds to customize their child’s education. Administered through approved Scholarship Funding Organizations such as Step Up For Students and AAA Scholarship Foundation, the program deposits funds into an Education Savings Account (ESA) that parents can use for a wide range of approved educational expenses. These may include private school tuition, tutoring services, curriculum and instructional materials, therapies, specialized learning services, technology, and part-time courses offered by public schools. The program is intended for eligible K–12 students with specific diagnoses or disabilities and allows families to design an educational plan tailored to their child’s individual learning needs and abilities.
