St. Johns Compass Program to Expand Flexible Learning Options for St. Johns County Students
The St. Johns County School District will launch St. Johns Compass in August 2026, introducing a new opportunity designed to expand access to a high-quality public education for eligible students.
St. Johns Compass is a pay-for-course option that allows eligible state scholarship students to enroll in up to three courses within St. Johns County schools. Students may customize their learning based on their academic goals and interests while receiving instruction from certified teachers through in-person classes or St. Johns Virtual School.
“St. Johns Compass represents an important step in ensuring families have access to flexible, high-quality educational opportunities while staying connected to our district’s exceptional teachers and programs,” said Superintendent Dr. Brennan Asplen. “It reflects our ongoing commitment to meeting families where they are by offering flexible, student-centered learning options within the public school system.”
The program will be available to St. Johns County residents participating in the Family Empowerment Scholarship–Unique Abilities (FES-UA) and Educational Options (FES-EO) or the Florida Tax Credit Personalized Education Program (FTC-PEP). Contracted services through a public school district is an authorized use of program funds per Florida Statue 1002.394 & 1002.395.
Families interested in St. Johns Compass may complete the interest form. The Compass Coordinator will begin developing your child’s personalized schedule and will reach out, beginning in June, to confirm the request.
