Literacy Matrix
Lastinger Learning is excited to announce the application for Competencies 2-5 of the Literacy Matrix is now open for the 2025-2026 academic year.
This will be a six-month program running from August 26, 2025, to May 4, 2026.
We encourage you to register as soon as possible to ensure you secure a seat in the program.
Applications are open until August 8.
Educators returning to the program begin Competencies 2-5 on August 26.
Educators new to the program begin a Literacy Micro-Credential (Competency 1) on August 11 and then begin Competencies 2-5 on November 12.
Application window may close earlier if capacity is reached.
To be correctly enrolled in the Literacy Matrix, you must first apply to enroll in the Elementary or Secondary Literacy Micro-Credential to satisfy Competency 1. The application for the Micro-Credentials closes July 25, or when capacity is reached.
Participants receive:
- $2,000 completion stipend for eligible Literacy Matrix participants

- 300 hours of professional learning
- 60 hours from a Literacy Micro-Credential (Competency 1) and 240 hours from the Literacy Matrix Competencies 2-5
- State of Florida Reading Endorsement
Required coursework competencies include:
Competency 1 (60 hours): Elementary or Secondary Literacy Micro-Credential
Competency 2 (60 hours): Application of Evidence-Based Instructional Practices
Competency 3 (60 hours): Foundations and Application of Assessment
Competency 4 (60 hours): Foundations and Application of Differentiated Instruction
Competency 5 (60 hours): Demonstration of Accomplishment
Educators new to the program must complete Competency 1 (Micro-Credential) and Competencies 2-5 (Literacy Matrix). Educators who started at least one competency after July 1, 2023, and are returning to the program may enroll to finish the remaining competencies.
