The St. Johns County School Board is in the process of selecting a new Superintendent of Schools. To facilitate a thorough and inclusive search, the Board has partnered with the Florida School Boards Association (FSBA), whose experience will help identify the most qualified candidate to lead our schools forward.

During its Regular Meeting on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, the School Board selected Dr. Brennan Asplen to be St. Johns County School District’s next superintendent.

Meet and Greet
A “Meet and Greet” event with the Superintendent Finalists was held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 6:00 PM at First Coast Technical College located at 2980 Collins Ave., St. Augustine, FL 32084.
Finalist Interviews
The School Board conducted Superintendent Interviews on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 8:30 AM in the auditorium of the SJCSD Administrative Building located at 40 Orange Street, St. Augustine, FL 32084.
During its meeting on April 25, 2025, the School Board named the following 4 finalists.

- Dr. Brennan Asplen
- Dr. Marianne Simon
- Dr. Kyle Dresback
The public was invited to provide feedback on the ten semifinalists by completing an online survey.
Ten semifinalists were selected by the School Board during the Board’s Special Meeting on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
These semifinalists were asked to provide written and video responses to 3 interview questions by 5:00 PM on Friday, April 18, 2025.
The application submission period ran from Monday, March 3, 2025 through Friday, March 28, 2025 and is now closed.
The Superintendent Search Community Survey closed on Friday, February 14, 2025. Thank you to everyone who provided their input!
