Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer Program for School Year 2021-2022
Florida has been approved to implement a Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) program for the 2021-2022 School Year. The P-EBT program is a supplemental benefit for households with students who temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price school meals due to COVID-related absences. Parents and guardians of students who meet the eligibility criteria should apply for P-EBT benefits for the 2021-2022 School Year. The application for P-EBT benefits can be accessed through the Florida Department of Children and Families website.
Once the application has been completed, parents and guardians will need to print or email the application and the school must confirm the student’s COVID-related absences. Once the application has been certified through the student’s school, the parent or guardian of the student must submit the certified application through the P-EBT application portal, which can be accessed on the Florida Department of Children and Families website. Once received, the Florida Department of Children and Families will review the information and issue the appropriate P-EBT benefits to the parents or guardians.

Message from the Superintendent – May 25, 2022
Dear Parents, Staff and Community Members,
It is heartbreaking to be writing to you today about the tragedy of Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Tx. This horrific act incites fear and insecurity in us all. I am so appreciative of the partnership that exists between the school district and our local law enforcement agencies, the St. Johns Sheriffs Office and the St. Augustine Police Department. Our schools are safer due to their support and expertise and our collaborative relationship.
This is a message that I never want to deliver especially during a time when we are celebrating the amazing accomplishments of our students. We will have increased presence of law enforcement in and around our schools as we close out the school year.

District Media Advisory Committee Meetings on 5/31 and 6/1
Two District Media Advisory Committee Meetings will be held at 8:30 AM EST on May 31, 2022 and June 1, 2022.
Both meetings will be broadcast live online and may be viewed on the SJCSD Media Services YouTube channel.

Change to Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) Starting August 2022
Due to changes in socioeconomic demographics throughout the county, and federal requirements for program participation, changes are required regarding Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) implementation within our school district. As a result, unless eligible via an income-based school meal application or the Florida direct certification system, students attending the following schools will no longer receive meals free of charge during the upcoming 2022-2023 school year:
- Mason Elementary School
- Gamble Rogers Middle School
- Sebastian Middle School
For the 2022-2023 school year, school meal applications will be available starting July 1, 2022. Visit the Free & Reduced Meal Prices web page for additional information or contact the Food & Nutrition Services Department.
