Students can only be enrolled in a St. Johns County School if the student\u2019s parent\/guardian\u2019s primary residence is in St. Johns County.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Students are zoned to attend a specific school based on their primary residence address.\u00a0 If a family owns more than one home in St. Johns County, the primary address used for school zoning will be the property with the Homestead Exemption.\u00a0 The zoned schools for each address can be found using the Attendance Zone Locator<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

If you are purchasing a home or moving into a rental property in the future, you will not be able to register your child at the school zoned for that address until you have a signed closing statement or current lease.\u00a0 If you are staying in a temporary residence until you are able to move into your new home, you may apply for an Out-of-Zone Hardship Waiver, as long as the temporary residence is located in St. Johns County.\u00a0 The Hardship Waiver Application and additional information about hardship criteria are available on our Student Transfers<\/strong><\/a> web page.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

St. Johns County School District does not accept Power of Attorney or notarized guardianship paperwork as proof of guardianship.\u00a0 Per School Board Rule 5.05(1)(e), when a student resides with a person who is not the student\u2019s parent seeks to enroll in school, the student shall present a court order appointing the person with whom they reside as either their legal guardian or legal custodian or shall present other proper documentation from a state or federal agency placing the child with the person with whom they reside.\u00a0 In the absence of a court order or proper documentation from a state or federal agency placing the child with the person whom they reside, the following documents may be accepted for school registration purposes:<\/p>
