June 12, 2023, the Governor signed Senate Bill 0676 into law which, in part, amended sections 435.04, 435.12, 1012.315, 1012.467, and 1012.56 F.S to require the Agency for Health Care Administration to review and determine employment eligibilities of persons required to be screened by the Department of Education through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse (Clearinghouse) of all instructional and non-instructional employees and contractors, student teachers, and persons participating in a field experience of:<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-557c818 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"557c818\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-ac507b8\" data-id=\"ac507b8\" will increase for individuals who seek employment, work or contract with St. Johns County School District.<\/p><p>The increased cost is due to new legislation (see above) requiring a photograph and upfront retention fees.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section The <strong>contractor\/vendor list is updated weekly.<\/strong>\u00a0Clearance is good for five (5) years and must be renewed through the Clearinghouse.<\/p><p>Contractors\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #800000\">fingerprinted and cleared\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>by St. Johns County School District must pick up their badge at 40 Orange Street, Saint Augustine, FL 32084 Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.\u00a0Badges are processed by Field Print, Inc<strong>.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Please allow a minimum of 10 business days after processing to contact St. Johns County School District 904-547-7500 to obtain your badge.\u00a0Badges cannot be mailed.
