If the conditions of employment or placement change, the employee transfer will be null and void. If the employee is no longer employed by the District, the privilege is revoked. The situation could impact the student\u2019s ability to achieve success at their zoned school. <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">You must be a St. Johns County resident to apply for an Out of Zone Hardship Transfer.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Not being selected by the lottery for Controlled Open Enrollment does not constitute a hardship. <\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><strong>QUESTIONS?<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">If you have any questions regarding hardship transfers, please call the Office for School Services at (904) 547-7724. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-31a35a1e elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"31a35a1e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">General Transfer Policy and Procedures<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5cf3aff1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5cf3aff1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><strong>APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Transportation must be provided by the parent for ALL approved requests.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Requested school must meet class size compliance.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Parent agrees that at any time during the school year, a transfer may be revoked due to poor attendance, tardiness, or discipline issues.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Parent understands that falsification of residency shall result in the revocation of the transfer waiver. The student will return to his or her zoned school at a time determined by the Superintendent or designee.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Parent must receive an APPROVED Hardship Transfer from the St. Johns County School District\u2019s Department for School Services.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Parent must complete a separate application for each child.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><strong>GRANDFATHERED REQUESTS<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Fifth, Eighth and Twelfth grade students may request to remain at his or her previous school. The parent must submit a Hardship Out of Zone Application for consideration. Younger siblings, however, must attend their zoned school.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><strong>HOME PURCHASE REQUESTS<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p>Hardship transfer requests based on future home purchases will be considered. However, students must remain enrolled in the school zone corresponding to their current residence until a decision regarding the hardship waiver has been made.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><strong>OTHER TRANSFER REQUESTS<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">The Hardship Transfer Application is only for parents who believe they have a hardship. <\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">For Open Enrollment \u201cChoice\u201d transfers, please visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/coe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Guidance and Choice website<\/a>.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><strong>STUDENT-ATHLETE TRANSFERS<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Student-Athletes who transfer to another school must oblige themselves to the FHSAA Rules of Athletic Eligibility.<\/span><\/p><div class=\"su-note\"  style=\"border-color:#e5e5c3;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;\"><div class=\"su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"background-color:#ffd;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;\"><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><strong>Out of Zone hardship and SJCSD Employee transfers are valid for <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">ONE SCHOOL YEAR ONLY<\/span>. Students currently on an out of zone hardship waiver are not automatically guaranteed acceptance for the next school year, and an application must be submitted annually. TRANSPORTATION MUST BE PROVIDED BY THE PARENT.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><strong>A committee will review requests for out of zone transfers. A decision will be made based on the information provided in the application and any additional documentation. Please allow approximately three weeks for an email response. If application is denied, a parent may request an appeal in writing to the Office for School Services. Once the denial is provided to the parent, the parent must enroll the student in the attendance zone in which they reside, even if appealing at the next level. The Superintendent will appoint a Transfer Appeals Committee. All decisions by the Superintendent are final.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p>Approved waivers must still follow all registration and enrollment guidelines.
