How Do I Acquire Clinical Education Training in St. Johns County School District?

To become a Clinical Educator in St. Johns County School District, you must have completed Clinical Educator (CET) training.                                                                                                                                              The state has updated the components of this training and so anyone who wishes to continue serving in this capacity will need to take part in the new training by August 2021. After August 2021, any previous CET Training will no longer fulfill the qualification needed to mentor in any capacity (i.e., intern students, practicum students, new teachers, new hires, struggling teachers, teachers working towards completing the general knowledge certification exam, etc.)

The training is comprised of:

  • Two 7-hour face-to-face meetings
  • Five online modules
  • Four 1-hour monthly follow-up sessions scheduled on early release Wednesdays

The Clinical Educator Training is offered through the St. Johns County School District Professional Development Department to teachers who meet the pre-identified criteria via an application process. The application is an online internal process that includes Principal Recommendation.
