The Professional Development (PD) and Evaluations Department handles the tracking of all inservice points that employees earn for participating in learning opportunities. They monitor and assist in the organization and facilitation of all District learning opportunities, ensuring that sessions are input properly into BusinessPlus. They review any submissions for inservice provided by outside organizations to ensure that they meet the guidelines of the State and of the SJCSD Master Inservice Plan, and review both college transcripts and requests to transfer inservice records from previous work locations. Additionally, the PD/Evaluations Department oversees the add-on endorsement programs approved by the State that allow St. Johns County Teachers to earn Endorsements in both ESOL and Reading at no cost. For Evaluations, the Department is responsible for the annual approval of the Instructional Employee Evaluation System from FLDOE, training all Instructional personnel in the Marzano Focused Teacher Evaluation Model, and for training all District Evaluators in the process of providing ongoing feedback that ultimately results in the Teacher Performance Score on the Summative Teacher Evaluation.
