Taking Student Attendance

The teacher’s ability to take attendance will be discontinued during this time of online learning. As we have transitioned into an online atmosphere that has different schedules and frequency at each school, it is not feasible to maintain the period style attendance that many schools utilize. We also cannot change a course mid-year from period to daily attendance. The current virtual environment being employed focuses more on participation than attendance.

Teachers have been instructed to notify their administration of students who are not participating. If after following up with the student/family/guardian, administration deems that the student should be marked absent, the absence will be entered by a member of administration or the computer operator.
