Studying world languages fosters global understanding and opens doors to personal, educational and professional opportunities. Learning another language not only enhances communication skills but also deepens cultural awareness. Moreover, language learning strengthens cognitive abilities such as memory and helps with multi-tasking and problem solving.<\/p>\n

What does St. Johns County offer in high schools?
\n<\/strong>The St. Johns County School District offers Spanish<\/strong> and American Sign Language<\/strong> (ASL) courses at the high school level.<\/p>\n

What does the state of Florida require for world languages for college and university entrance?
\n<\/strong>Although world language is not a graduation requirement, Section 1007.261(1)(a), Florida Statutes, requires two credits of sequential foreign language instruction at the secondary level as a prerequisite for admission to all Florida state colleges and universities.<\/p>\n
