Federal Programs/ESOL is trying to meet the needs of our ever-expanding, multi-lingual community by providing a forum via the internet where international students can chat about their challenging experiences in a safe atmosphere. We are using Schoology and have initiated a group where international students create a profile using the flag of their country of origin and share their thoughts with one another in schools across the county. Their parents can view the exchanges, and some have even teamed up to host socials promoting continued conversations finding commonalities and realizing that they are not alone. The goal is to help students transition to their new environment and provide as much support as possible.
