By the end of 2020, the student count went up by almost 50% to 42,278 students.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-14965c0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"14965c0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/energy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/181\/2022\/04\/SJCSD-Student-Population.pdf\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"435\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/energy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/181\/2022\/04\/SJCSD-Student-Population.png\" class=\"attachment-full size-full wp-image-220\" alt=\"St. Johns County School District Population\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/energy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/181\/2022\/04\/SJCSD-Student-Population.png 1000w, https:\/\/www.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/energy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/181\/2022\/04\/SJCSD-Student-Population-300x131.png 300w, https:\/\/www.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/energy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/181\/2022\/04\/SJCSD-Student-Population-768x334.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ec5e33e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ec5e33e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>If District Leadership and the School Board did not implement efforts to increase energy efficiency and reduce waste, energy costs would have kept rising consistent with the growth rate of the District\u2019s student population and facility area footprint. Total energy costs would also have been adversely impacted by the historical nature of rising energy and utility costs (see Projected Energy Cost estimate graph below).
