Students are typically served in their home-zoned school in regular education or ESE Varying Exceptionality (VE) classes with the support of an Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif\">The Department of Education provides the educational definition of a student eligible for special educational services through the the State of Florida. The\u00a0criteria for eligibility requires that the student has a hearing loss, aided or unaided, that impacts the processing of linguistic information and which adversely affects performance in the educational environment.
