Phone & Internet Outage Affecting All Schools

Due to an unexpected outage, internet and telephone services are temporarily unavailable at all St. Johns County School District schools. Technicians are working to restore these services as quickly as possible, however, the estimated time of repair has not been determined. If you need to contact a school in the meantime, you may call the school’s main local number (the school’s non-547 number) which is listed on our schools directory.

Important Message

SJCSD schools will be in session tomorrow, Monday, October 2.  Due to flooding in some areas throughout the county, there may be neighborhoods and roads that are inaccessible by bus. This may result in the inability to transport some students to and from school.

Please remember that the safety of your children and family is most important. Families in impacted areas may make the decision to keep their children at home because of unsafe travel conditions. Schools will work with parents and families individually to ensure that instructional content is accommodated for students who miss school due to weather conditions tomorrow.

Internet & phone outage at SWES

Internet and telephone service are temporarily unavailable at South Woods Elementary School. The cause of the outage and the estimated time of repair have not been determined. Technicians are currently investigating the issue. If you need to contact the school in the meantime, you may call the district switchboard at (904) 547-7500 which will relay your message to the school.

School Closures

SJCSD Update for Parents – Due to widespread power outages, poor road conditions, staff availability, families impacted by Hurricane Irma, and concern for student safety, ALL SJCSD schools will remain closed Thursday, September 14 and Friday, September 15. SJCSD schools will reopen on Monday, September 18.

SJCSD Update for Employees ONLY – All 12-month employees should report to work Thursday, September 14 and Friday, September 15. If you are unable to report to work, please contact your principal/supervisor. On Friday, September 15, ALL employees, regardless of position, should report to work. Principals/Supervisors will communicate any additional information and/or instructions to their employees by close of business today.

School Closures

All SJCSD schools and district offices will be closed on Friday, September 8 and Monday, September 11 due to Hurricane Irma. Schools will operate as normal on Thursday, September 7 and scheduled evening activities will take place. District administration is working with the Emergency Operations Center and will provide additional updates as necessary via SchoolMessenger and on our website at www.stjohns.k12.fl.us.

BTHS Evacuation

Bartram Trail High School is currently being evacuated due to a potential bomb threat. Rest assured your children are safe. Please do not arrive at the school and we will continue to update you via text and email as the situation progresses.

Intermittent Power Issues

Allen D. Nease High School is having intermittent power issues which is affecting internet and telephone service at the school. The cause of the intermittent outages and the estimated time of repair have not been determined. Technicians are currently investigating the issue. If you need to contact this school in the meantime, you may call the district switchboard at (904) 547-7500 which will relay your message to the school.

Classes Will Resume on Tuesday, October 11

Governor Scott has prioritized the reopening of schools throughout the state of Florida. All St. Johns County School District Schools will be open tomorrow and normal district operations will resume.

In addition, the district’s transportation department has been assessing road conditions today and there may be some delays with pick up and drop off in isolated areas tomorrow.
