MCES and WCES on lockdown: Update 3

Students at Mill Creek Elementary and Wards Creek Elementary schools are now being released for dismissal. We are doing this in conjunction with law enforcement. Students at Pacetti Bay Middle School have already been released for normal dismissal.  Mill Creek Elementary, Pacetti Bay Middle and Wards Creek Elementary schools were placed on a hard lockdown this afternoon due to criminal activity in the area.

Dismissal has been delayed at Mill Creek Elementary and Wards Creek Elementary schools. We are currently releasing students from Pacetti Bay Middle School for normal dismissal. There is increased law enforcement in the area and we are doing this in conjunction with law enforcement. Please be advised that Mill Creek Elementary, Pacetti Bay Middle and Wards Creek Elementary schools have been placed on a hard lockdown due to criminal activity in the area. Under the direction of local law enforcement, we have enacted this lockdown as a safety precaution for the security of our students.

Internet & phone outage at HES: Update 2

Internet and telephone services have been restored to Pedro Menendez High School and Gamble Rogers Middle School following a outage which began at 1:35pm this afternoon. W. D. Hartley Elementary School remains without service. MyFloridaNet technicians have investigated the issue and have determined that there is a fiber optic cable cut in the network. The estimated time of repair has not been determined. If you need to contact W. D. Hartley in the meantime, you may call its local number (904) 797-7156 or the district switchboard at (904) 547-7500, which will relay your message to the school.

Power restored to LMS, PVMKRES & OPES

Power has been fully restored to Alice B. Landrum Middle School, PVPV/Rawlings Elementary School and Ocean Palms Elementary School following an outage this morning. Telephone and internet services have also been restored to these schools.

Landrum Middle School, PVPV/Rawlings Elementary School and Ocean Palms Elementary School due to a power outage affecting these schools. FPL technicians are working to restore service to theses schools, but the estimated time of repair has not been determined.
