On the January 29 Inservice Day, Nemours Children’s Clinic Endocrinology Dept. will be providing in-depth training for school nurses on the latest trends and treatments for diabetes in children. There will be a focus on how to keep students with diabetes safe at school and manage their disease process while helping them succeed academically.
The St. Johns County School Board proclaimed February 5-9 as Student Services Week during their February School Meeting.
The School Services Department began the process of accepting student hardship transfer applications for the 2018-2019 school year January 17.

Nearly 500 runners and walkers of all ages participated in the 2018 Annual CHARACTER COUNTS! 6 Pillars 6K/3K Run/Walk on Saturday, February 3rd. Race proceeds support CHARACTER COUNTS! initiatives throughout the St. Johns County School District.
St. John County School District's Teachers of the Year and Rookie Teachers of the Year were celebrated at an annual banquet held on January 24th at the World Golf Village Renaissance Center.
From January 29 – February 26, 2018, families residing within and outside of St. Johns County may apply for their child to attend PVPV/Rawlings Elementary School or The Webster School for the 2018-2019 school year through the Controlled Open Enrollment Process.
The St. Johns County School District has had a 4.4 percent growth over the last year when compared to 2016-2017 school year. With growth comes hiring.
Each new employee has had the opportunity to attend an orientation session. Our first session was held on August 2 at Pacetti Bay Middle School with over 208 attending.
Our Employee Specialists have been and will continue to visit teachers at schools throughout the year to offer assistance and guidance regarding many certification needs of new and established teachers.
