Lorraine Cosgrove, Program Specialist for School Libraries, supports media programs across the district. Recently media specialists were trained to support the use of Learning Ally, an online resource that provides audiobooks and parent support services to empower blind, visually impaired, and dyslexic students.
Ms. Cosgrove, along with several media specialists from across the district, also attended the state conference for media hosted by the Florida Association for Media in Education (FAME) where the theme was “Tell Your Story”. Connecting with students, giving them a voice and listening to their stories is a great beginning to an effective learning environment.
Please contact your child’s school media specialist to obtain information on library/media center activities and resources including books available for checkout, makerspace activities, and accessibility resources such as Learning Ally.
