Background Check Clearance Process As an educational institution, the School Board of St. Johns County, Florida maintains a high standard and has a high level of clearance for background checks.  Refer to Background Screening under the Lunsford Act Menu for more details on offenses that may lead to disqualification. How to Schedule a Fingerprinting Appointment    To make an appointment for fingerprinting go to Fieldprintflorida.com.  and follow the instructions below. 1. Log onto www.fieldprintflorida.com website to schedule your appointment. You will create a secure username/password to enter the system.   2. In the Reason why you need to be fingerprinted screen; the applicant will select I know my Fieldprint Code and enter the Fieldprint Code in the space provided.   3. Vendor Fieldprint Code: FPStJohnsVendor   Please note the access code IS case sensitive.   4. You will provide your contact and demographic information. The information requested on the scheduling site is the information required by FDLE/FBI in order to process the criminal search.    5. From this point forward the website will prompt you for the required information to find a local collection facility and schedule an appointment. Instructions, directions, maps, and photos will all be provided directly online.   6. You may also select the “Contact Us” link on the website.   Payment Process The fingerprint fee is $88.00 (eighty-eight dollars) per transaction. Payment most be made by credit card only. If the appointment is missed, there is a fee of $15.00 to reschedule. How to check for clearance It may take up to five business days for fingerprint results to get to Human Resources. You may check to see if employees have been cleared by accessing the school district web site www.stjohns.k12.fl.us. Click on the Cleared Vendors List link. Vendors are posted by legal last and first name, vendor status, birth date, and date cleared. Clearance will be good for five (5) years. After five years, a new fingerprint submission will be required. St. Johns County School District does not issue badges for clearance; vendors are to use their driver's license to check into St. Johns County Schools.
