The framework for teacher evaluations utilized in St. Johns County is based upon on a model of continuous reflection and goal setting focused on improving instructional performance that will meet the needs of all students. This school year, all administrators and teachers are embarking upon a specific process known as Professional Learning Communities that guides a collaborative team approach to analyzing student data and planning instruction that will best guide students to mastery of the state identified standards. This process allows for continual reflection upon instructional practices and job-embedded professional development that will have the greatest impact on student learning.
The school district is providing training throughout the year for administrators and summer opportunities for teachers to deepen their understanding of this process. Our goal is for this to become the “way we work” to provide the highest quality education to all students in St. Johns County School District.
