Mill Creek Elementary School Expansion

Mill Creek Elementary May

Scope of Project: This project is a classroom expansion to Mill Creek Elementary School located at 3750 International Golf Parkway in northwest St. Johns County and is being constructed as part of the District’s Five-Year Building Plan. The sixteen (16) classroom expansion is an approximately 30,000 s.f., 2-story addition to the existing elementary school and has been designed and located on the existing campus to complement the existing school layout and configuration. The classroom expansion is needed to address and compensate for additional growth in the area. Classroom areas will accommodate groupings of multi-age students using teaching teams, as well as more traditional same-sized groupings. ~Movable walls open to paired classrooms as well as to a common work area which will allow for flexible-sized spaces under this design concept. ~This feature will enable teachers and paraprofessionals to work cooperatively to facilitate learning for students through a variety of activities. This classroom expansion will also include state of the art instructional technology.

Total Project Budget: $4,271,000 (includes construction cost, site work, professional services, furniture and equipment)
