Do you know that identified gifted students make up over 8 percent of the total St. Johns County School District student population?
These gifted students have many needs. High-achieving students often struggle with perfectionism and anxiety. Underachieving students often need help with time management, organizational skills and goal setting. All of our gifted students can benefit from developing a sense of effective social and emotional well-being.
The Gifted Parent Advisory Council (GPAC) meets four times per year to inform the school district about ways in which the district can improve its efforts in serving gifted students. Information about giftedness and ways to help gifted students are presented at these meeting. Parents of K-12 gifted students from throughout the district are encouraged to attend.
The GPAC meetings have been scheduled for the 2017-18 school year. They are located each year in schools from different areas of the district. See schedule below.
