Welcome to the St. Johns County District Home Education Website. This website is designed to provide parents and guardians with the procedures necessary to successfully home educate their child in St. Johns County.

According to Florida Statute 1002.41, parents are eligible to home educate their children.  Home education is defined by FS as “sequentially progressive instruction of a student by his/her parent or guardian in order to satisfy school attendance requirements."

Please review the legal responsibilities and obligations carefully prior to enrolling your child into home education. I also suggest that you review the information provided by the Office of Independent Education and Parental Choice Website.

I hope that you will find the information useful as you determine if home education is the best option for your child. Prior to beginning the home education experience, I recommend that you schedule a time to meet with Phyllis Ingram the District Guidance Counselor, she can give you guidance regarding the options avalible for your child as well as answer any questions you may have. Dr. Ingram can be reached at (904) 547-7151 or email at ingramp@stjohns.k12.fl.us

Best wishes for a successful home education experience,

Denise Faulk,
Director, Guidance and Choice
