Career Academy receives National Recognition < St. Johns Career Academy team attends National Career Academy Coalition conference in Austin, Texas in Nov. 2010. St. Johns County Aerospace Academy at St. Augustine High School (SAHS) was designation as a National Model Career Academy.
The Career Academies were well represented with two teams presenting. Gail Cullum, Embry Riddle instructor at the Aerospace Academy, presentation entitled, "Inspring Students to Choose Engineering" was a huge success. The SAHS Academy of Future Teachers instructors, Katie Malby and Daryl Cullipher, presented their successful approaches to Service Learning projects within their academy. The Future Teachers have focused on "going green" with projects designed to help the local community's efforts with beach erosion. Students created poetry books using the coastal theme and presented them to their elementary reading buddies.
